BSC Saves the Best for Last Day 4 Recap
BSC Teammates concluded a very successful Age Group Champs by finishing in 8th Place overall with 641.5 Points---that is an 800% increase from last summer! This also marks the First Time in at Least 5 Years that BSC has been on the Top 10!! The 10 and Under Girls Squad placed 3rd Overall as a Team in their Division. The 11-12 Boys Placed 2nd in their age Division Overall. Ally Penrod, Colin O'Leary and Andrew Fish all finished in the Top 10 in the High Point Category for their age group.
The highlight of the evening was the 4x100 Medley Relay of Colin O'Leary, Max Gersten, Andrew Fish, and Will Hobbs swimming to first place and a NEW ILLINOIS SWIMMING RECORD with a time of 4:44.95 eclipsing the old record by two seconds.--That TIme is currentlyu 9th in the US!
Colin O'Leary continued to swim well with a 2nd place in the 200Back and a 4th Place in the 100Fly and another Team Record. Andrew Fish also added Championship points in the 100Fly with a 5th Place, he also swam to the top spot in the B-Final of the 50Free. Emma Barnett and Kirsten Jacobsen both stepped on the podium in the 1500Free with Sectional Qualifying Times and a 4th and 8th place finish respectively.
Overall BSC swimmers swam 100 swims at the meet and 97 of them were best times! We had several new Zone Qualifiers, Sectional Qualifiers, 100% Best Times, Team Records. It has been an amazing summer and I am very proud of everyone on the team at all levels. To keep this level of success going everyone will need to bring their A game come August 15th!! Set Your Goals High---Come to Practice Every Day--Work Hard both Technically and in Training and BSC will continue to rise in the ISI ranks!
