Here are some things we did well:
-
Dramatic Improvement from September—Top to bottom the improvement from the Pentathlon was obvious. Kudos go to Coaches who saw adjustments that needed to be made in technique and training. Kudos to the athletes who evaluated their performance in September and made the necessary adjustments to be successful at the next meet!
-
Being Together as a Team---It was great to see BSC together as a Team! From the youngest Colt to the Oldest Senior it is Awesome to see our teammates interacting with each other. This is the make a team that genuinely cares for one another! This is part of what makes BSC a special team and a great team.
Here are some things we need to improve upon:
-
Timeliness---At a meet it is so important that everyone is their early enough to grab seating and a warm-up lane. There were too many teammates that were late to warm-up making getting enough bleacher space and warm-up space difficult. 15-30min early is a good gauge for meets to get changed, signed in, and ready to go.
-
Underwaters and Turns---It was really obvious that we have been working on these two key items, but it was also really obvious we need to work harder and smarter to make race quality improvements. The one item that cost us the most this meet was breathing off the walls on fly and free. ALWAYS---ALWAYS---ALWAYS--hold your breath the first stroke off a turn on fly and free—it helps you maintain momentum off the turn and you travel an extra half meter or more.
Our next meet is at home at the Mustang Classic. Lets all work really hard and really smart over the next 3 weeks to show our improvement against some great competition!!
