Fillies Shine at IHSA Sectionals

At the IHSA Girls swimming Sectional hosted by Barrington High School. BSC Teammates did an amazing job of Best Times and as well as advancing to next week's State Finals hosted by New Trier High School.

The 200Freestyle saw Emma Barnett swim a 1:54 which was a best time and IHSA qualifying time. Kirsten Jacobsen swam a 1:51 also good for a trip the the State Finals.

In the 200IM Andrea Vega continued her rise this season with a 2:10 and a State Qualifying Time.

In the 50 Free Mekenna Scheitlin show an Amazing Veteran Finish winning the event and Qualifying for the State Finals. Teammate Sara Kate Capel swam a great race Best Time just missing the state time.

The 100Fly saw Alice Han swim a great back half race and a Best Time.

In the 100Free Mekenna Scheitlin swam to another State Qualifying Time with Sara Kate Capel swimming a Best Time just .6 away from the Qualifying Time.

BHS recorded a 1-2 Finish in the 500Free. Reiging State Champ Kirsten Jacobsen winning the event as well as swimming the fastest time in the State. Emma Barnett swam a great last 100yards to get under the cut and a Second Place.

The Fillies tied for Second place in the 200Free Relay with Andrea Vega, Mekenna Scheitlin, Emma Barnett, and Kirsten Jacobsen. Their time was good enough for a State Qualifying Time.

Kelsey Holmes and Kael Ragnini both swam to Best Times in the 100Back

In the Final Event of the day Andrea Vega, Mekenna Scheitlin, Emma Barnett, and Kirsten Jacobsen raced to a second place and State Qualifying time just missing the BHS School Record.
