Fillies Prepared for State Finals

The IHSA State finals will be held at New Trier High School on Friday and Saturday this week. Barrington High School has 5 swimmers going to the meet.

Barrington High School looks to repeat their Top 10 finish from a year ago behind the leadership of senior Mekenna Scheitlin who scored championship points in the 50Free and has posted times fast enough to score in the 100Free this season. Returning State Champion, Sophomore Kirsten Jacobsen is seeded 1st by 2 seconds in the 500Free. Her offseason time of 4:47 puts her within striking distance of the State Record in that event. . Jacobsen also scored Championship points in the 200Free last season. Junior Emma Barnett returns to the State Meet seeded in the Top 12 in the 500Free with a lifetime best good enough to score Championship Points. She is also qualified in the 200Free. Fellow Junior Andrea Vega makes her first trip to the State Finals as an individual in the 200IM. The 200Free and 400Free Relays for Barrington will be key in their Top 10 repeat bid. The 400Free Relay is seeded in the Top 12.
