BSC Teammate Kirsten Jacobsen was awarded the Female Breakout Performer of the Year for 2013 by Illinois Swimming at the annual recognition banquet. The award is given to the female swimmer who competes at the national level for the first time and shows the most improvement based on FINA power points. In 2013 Kirsten set the IL Senior Championship Meet Record in the 500Free and 1650 Free as well as qualifying for the USA Swimming Junior National Meet in the 100Free, 200Free, 400Free, 800Free, and 1500Free.
